John Rodriguez (they/them) is the Head of Growth & Partnerships at SoundMind. As a first generation graduate who later went to attain their masters degree in higher educational leadership & counseling, John continued chasing their academic aspirations. Only after embarking on their journey as a Ph.D Candidate focused on clinical psychology & Industrial and Organizational (IO) psychology – John veered towards a space where their approaches, strategies, and ideas would intersect with speed and scalability.
John’s worked at category creators like, Drift, or hyper-growth and social impact companies like EVERFI. Today, they apply their education/consulting background with psychology in order to really understand the customer, drive more thoughtful, meaningful relationships, and use data-centric practices to prove value that matters to the customer. Outside of work, John is busy chasing after his 2.5 yr old son and his 7yr old French bulldog, Kingsley – together they try popup restaurants and immersive exhibits, or the beach.
